I took an Uber home from the grocery story yesterday. I chatted with the driver as he asked if I did not have a car. After telling him I stopped driving due to having Alzheimer’s disease, he told me he is originally from Armenia where he was a medical researcher. He asked me many questions about my Alzheimer’s symptoms, treatment, etc. I quickly realized the driver has extensive Alzheimer’s knowledge. I asked if he had a family member with Alzheimer’s. He said no; but, he researched Alzheimer’s extensively in Armenia. Somehow our conversation moved to stress as a risk factor. He thinks Americans are under a tremendous amount of stress.

In previous articles, I have written about the connection between stress and Alzheimer’s. Today, I want to explore what happens if someone suddenly eliminates or manages chronic stress. Is the risk of Alzheimer’s reduced?
